The Palestinian Authority has arrested dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants in the West Bank over the past two weeks, a PA source told Haaretz on Wednesday. According to the source, several of those detained by the PA were high ranking officials in the organizations. Meanwhile Hamas, which controls the Gaza enclave, detained four members of the rival Islamic Jihad on Wednesday.
