The Israel Defense Forces has come under harsh criticism in recent years from human rights organizations, foreign governments, the Arab world at large and even its own populace. It has been decried as an occupying force, guilty of killing civilians and encroaching upon the basic human rights of those living in the West Bank and Gaza.
While the Israeli government has opened a campaign to counter what it has deemed delegitimazation, a group of soldiers have stepped up their own efforts to highlight a different side of the army they serve.
