The Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem and Google have announced a partnership to put the world’s largest collection of Holocaust documents onto the Internet in order to preserve and access these archives.
The announcement came Wednesday, on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27 marking the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi extermination camp by Soviet troops in 1945.
The Jerusalem-based archive is devoted to the documentation, research, education and commemoration of the Holocaust.
