Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial

To commemorate martyrs’ and heroes that bear witness and sole attestant to the documents and historical events that happened during the Holocaust, Israel established a  main Holocaust remembrance and education center.

Ten years in the making, the Holocaust History Museum conflate the best of Yad Vashem’s expertise, resources and state-of-the-art exhibits to take Holocaust remembrance well into the next generation. It’s goal is to perpetuate these existing representations of the Holocaust victims and documenting the history of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. This project was significant for the nation and it’s citizens, particularly for the survivors of the ghettos and concentration camps.

Established in 1953 through the Yad Vashem Law proposed by the Knesset, the unicameral legislature of Israel. Yad Vashem is located on the Mount Har Hazikaron (Hill of Remembrance)composed of a  45-acre multifaceted complex holding the Holocaust History Museum, the Children’s Memorial and the Hall of Remembrance, The Museum of Holocaust Art, sculptures, outdoor commemorative sites such as the Valley of the Communities, a synagogue, archives, a research institute, library, publishing house and an educational center.
